Chicago Area Millionaire Adam Andjrewski sponsors out of district opponent against Representative Eddy in the new 110th District.

A self-promoting Chicago area Millionaire is upset that Representative Eddy would not vote for a Chicago School voucher Bill that would have diverted funds away from downstate schools.  So, he is sponsoring an out of district candidate to run against Representative Eddy.  The petition circulators for this puppet opponent also live outside of the 110th District as does his campaign manager, Susan Petty of Effingham.  Click on these documents to learn more about this attempt by a self promoting, wealthy Chicago area millionaire to control the 110th district with Chicago influence.

Advantage Illinois - Program Announced By Governor Quinn
On Wednesday, October 5th Advantage Illinois was announced, DCEO's enhanced portfolio of lending and venture capital programs to help small businesses gain much-needed access to capital:

  • Capital Access Program (CAP) assists businesses with various financing needs. It is designed to encourage financial institutions to make loans to small and new businesses that do not qualify under conventional lending policies.
  • Participation Loan Program (PLP) supports businesses with projects that create or retain jobs and/or modernize their businesses to improve competitiveness. One component of the program is devoted to Minority/Women/Disabled/Veteran-Owned businesses (MWDV PLP). The state purchases and subordinates part of the loan to help mitigate lender risk.
  • Collateral Support Program (CSP) establishes savings accounts or CDs that provide cash collateral support to lending institutions to enhance the equity and/or loan collateral levels of small business borrowers.
  • Invest Illinois Venture Fund Program (IIVF) is a new venture capital program to support young, innovative companies in Illinois that show high growth potential, can demonstrate their place in the market and already have other investors.
DCEO is now actively working to enroll lending institutions into the CAP, PLP and CSP programs so that they may begin making loans to small businesses as soon as possible. We are encouraging businesses interested in receiving loans from these programs to ensure that they have their financial and business plan materials in order by visiting a local Illinois SBDC for assistance in the interim before their bank is enrolled.

The IIVF venture capital application is online on the Advantage Illinois web site and will administered directly by DCEO.

The official website of Advantage Illinois is: www.ildceo.net/AdvantageIllinois

Wabash and Ohio Rivers Coordinating Council meeting.

The Wabash and Ohio Rivers Coordinating Council, composed of a diverse group of citizens, not-for-profit organizations, and state and federal agencies. Through a public dialogue, the Council coordinates initiatives, projects and funding to promote the ecological health of the Wabash and Ohio River and its tributaries by addressing the issues in the watershed.

Established in 2010, the Wabash and Ohio Rivers Coordinating Council is modeled after the successful Illinois River Coordinating Council and charged with coordinating policies and programs that work with residents and communities to increase awareness of and address the environmental and economic issues of the Wabash and Ohio Rivers watersheds in this rural area of Illinois.

We are working with the Illinois Institute for Rural Affairs to survey residents in the Wabash River basin.  Survey results will be used to develop a Wabash River Watershed Plan to guide the Wabash and Ohio Rivers Coordinating Council. If you live in Champaign, Clark, Clay, Coles, Crawford, Cumberland, Edgar, Edwards, Effingham, Ford, Hamilton, Jasper, Lawrence, Richland, Vermilion, Wabash, Wayne, or White County please take 10 minutes to complete this survey.

Do you live in the Wabash River Watershed region? Take a look at the watershed map.

Audio Statement................ Rep. Roger Eddy - responds to governor's budget address
Law enforcement officials from across Illinois urged lawmakers in Springfield Wednesday (March 9, 2011) to invest in the state’s early childhood education programs in next year’s budget.  Fight Crime: Invest in Kids, a coalition of 300 Illinois law enforcement members, says high-quality early learning programs for at-risk kids will help cut crime and save the state millions of dollars by reducing the number of students who need special education services because of behavioral problems.

It may seem odd for law enforcement representatives to be asking for money for education, but they say investing in education is the best way to fix the system from the ground up.

The organization’s first priority is reversing last year’s 10 percent budget cut for preschool programs. The group wants funding for Preschool for All—a program signed into law by then-Gov. Blagojevich in 2006 that makes preschool available to all 3- and 4-year-old children—restored to the 2009 level of $380 million. Listen
